Presentation of Professional Development Courses in Circular Economy at Sh. Ualikhanov Kokshetau University within the Erasmus+ KA2 CirculEC Project

On September 11, 2025, representatives of the Center “Promotion of Sustainable Development” held a training at the Department of Mining, Construction, and Ecology of Sh. Ualikhanov Kokshetau University on the topic: “Building the Capacity of Rural NGOs for Engagement with Government Authorities in the Areas of Waste Management and Climate Change.” This project is funded by the European Union.

The event was attended by leaders and representatives of public associations such as Angel, Eco-Kokshe, Meiirim-Zerendi, Zhiznennyi Put’, Peace and Harmony Foundation Altyn Örken, as well as faculty members, students, master’s and doctoral students of the Department of Mining, Construction, and Ecology.

During the training, members of the CirculEC Kokshetau University team – Nurgul Nurmukhanbetova, Aigul Kurmanbayeva, Gulim Baykenova, and Anargul Belgibayeva – presented information about the Erasmus+ project “Development of Innovative Curricula and Modules in Circular Economy and Sustainable Development (CirculEC).” The project aims to accelerate the transition to a circular economy and to contribute to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and the Green Deal initiatives.

The team members shared updates on the implementation of the CirculEC project at the university, answered questions about its progress, and presented the upcoming professional development courses in circular economy under the Erasmus+ KA2 CirculEC framework, inviting training participants to join them.

The course program is designed to strengthen participants’ competencies in circular economy and covers topics such as green economy, sustainable development, circular and sustainable entrepreneurship, as well as urban ecology. Participation will provide an opportunity to deepen knowledge in circular economy and sustainable development, as well as to learn about the principles of building and operating circular and sustainable business models in European companies.
