On November 6, 2025, a momentous and inspiring ceremony—the Dedication of Students to Medicine—was held in the assembly hall of Ualikhanov University. The event, aptly titled "The Path to Medicine: From Student to Doctor," marked the beginning of an accountable and noble journey for the freshmen.
Right from the start, it was emphasized that medicine is more than just a profession; it is "a way of life, a great responsibility, and an honor." The freshman class received congratulations and guidance from the leadership, leading faculty, and heads of departments of the Higher School of Medicine (HSM):
Yuriy Vyacheslavovich Lisitsyn — Director of the Higher School of Medicine.
Serik Akpenovich Ayaganov — Head of the Department of Surgical Disciplines.
Banurzhan Bayanovich Zhangalov — Head of the Department of Morphology, Physiology, and General Pathology.
The most poignant and central moment was the solemn Oath of the Medical Student. Future doctors donned their white coats—a symbol of purity of intent and dedication to the cause—and pledged to serve the health and dignity of human life, study diligently, and continually perfect their knowledge.This moment will forever remain in the memory of the freshmen as the starting point of their professional service.
The event was infused not only with solemnity but also with an atmosphere of friendship and talent. Student activists from the 1st, 2nd, and 5th years of the Higher School of Medicine presented vibrant creative performances, showcasing the multifaceted nature of student life at the HSM.The newly inducted medical students also demonstrated their intellect and quick thinking in an engaging medical quiz. Winners and the most active participants were awarded diplomas and certificates, presented by the Director of the HSM, Yuriy Vyacheslavovich Lisitsyn.
Medicine is an art that requires not only knowledge but also an immense heart. We wish our freshmen not only to become good specialists but true Physicians with a capital letter, whose calling stands guard over what is most precious—human life.
