As part of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Marat Syrlybayev, Rector of Ualikhanov University, and Zhaylagul Sagyndykova, Vice-Rector for Internationalization took part in a series of meetings with leading Pakistani universities as members of the delegation from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan. Following these discussions, Rector Syrlybayev formalized a memorandum of cooperation with the National University of Modern Languages (NUML).

NUML is one of Pakistan’s leading institutions in language education and international research. The university is ranked above 1400 in the QS World University Rankings and between 201–250 in the QS Subject Rankings for Modern Languages.

Under the memorandum both universities plan to systematically develop academic mobility programs, expand student and faculty exchanges, and implement joint educational and research initiatives in the fields of language studies, international cooperation, and applied research.

The memorandum provides a foundation for strengthening institutional partnerships, enhancing international academic collaboration, and advancing joint initiatives in education and research.
