On September 24, 2026, a lecture entitled “Medical and Psychological Measures for the Prevention of Addiction among Adolescents and Young People” was held for fifth- and sixth-year students of the Higher School of Medicine.

The lecture was delivered by Alexander Anatolyevich Vysotsky, a psychiatrist-narcologist of the highest qualification category and Director of the Regional Mental Health Center under the Health Department of Akmola Region.

During the meeting, current issues related to the prevention of various types of addiction among adolescents and young people were discussed, along with key medical and psychological approaches to their early detection and prevention. Particular attention was paid to promoting a healthy lifestyle and raising young people’s awareness of the consequences of addictive behaviour.
