Ualikhanov University hosted the 30th anniversary session of the traditional international scientific conference “Shokan Readings”, bringing together scholars and researchers on one professional platform.

Following long-standing tradition, the event opened with a flower-laying ceremony at the bust of the prominent scholar and enlightener Shokan Ualikhanov in front of the university’s main building - a tribute to his legacy and a symbol of continuity in academic traditions.

Over the years, the “Shokan Readings” conference has established itself as a significant academic platform that contributes to the development of science and education, fosters knowledge exchange, and strengthens professional and international collaboration.

This year’s conference was held under the theme “New Horizons of Science and Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.” Participants explored current challenges and opportunities related to the integration of AI technologies, as well as new approaches to research and education.

The conference brought together scholars and experts from across Kazakhstan and abroad. Professors and specialists from Canada, Estonia, Poland, Bashkortostan, and Ukraine, along with representatives of leading universities in Kazakhstan, took part in the event. Its international scope helped broaden academic dialogue and created new opportunities for collaboration and exchange.

Among the speakers were Yerzhan Magzhan - Head of the Department of Digitalization and Archives of the Akmola Region, Kuralai Kuderinova - Doctor of Philology and Professor, Deputy Director of the A. Baitursynuly Institute of Linguistics, Yerbol Absalyamov - Executive Director of the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) at Nazarbayev University, Marek Metslaid - Director of the Institute of Forestry and Engineering at the Estonian University of Life Sciences, and Robert Lee Williamson - Associate Professor of Inclusive Education at Simon Fraser University, Canada, along with other experts in education and artificial intelligence.

In their presentations, the speakers shared practical insights on integrating AI into educational processes and discussed key challenges and future directions in this rapidly evolving field.

The “Shokan Readings” conference continues to be not only an important tradition but also a modern academic platform where new ideas emerge, professional connections grow, and the future of science takes shape.
